Reflection: In this project, I learned how to make "scratch" by making an animal do certain controls that I installed. I was able to make the butterfly go up, down, and right to left. I chose the butterfly because a butterfly shows respect for the environment. It is a gentle insect that does not destroy where it lands. I enjoyed doing this project because it was interesting to make an animal do things that you tell it to do. I got confused and found it hard to follow what Cole was saying. Michella helped me get back on track. I now know that this is what some animated film creators do to make their characters come to life. This tool would be useful for elective classes in high school and mostly for animation tech classes. Scratch animations could be posted to school websites to attract the attention of people.
Car Color
Reflection: In this project, I learned how to change an objects color from it's original color to a new color, for example, the red car above changed to the teal colored car. I enjoyed this project because it was interesting to see how the hues of certain colors came together to form a new mixed color. This project was challenging to find a simple picture that was just a car. I tried doing a car with a nice background but when I went to change the color of the car it did the background instead. I realized that I had to have a simple black background with just the car as the center piece for the color change to happen. I can see this technology used when making color brochures showing the same object but in different color selections.

Reflection: Getting Tricky with wiki was an interesting project. It was cool to make a banner to get someones attention. I enjoyed doing this project because it was creative and easy to manipulate. This project was a bit tricky because I had to copy and paste the Embed part. It was hard to find the place to put the text on the banner. This took multiple tries but eventually I was satisfied with what I got. I can see using this tool to put important messages onto a banner. This could be used at sports games, city billboards, and websites.
Filters
Reflection: The ability to filter an image took creativity and open-mindedness. I chose a picture of two brothers showing respect towards each other. I enjoyed this filtering process because it was interesting to see how differently I could make the picture appear. I chose to put the filter as neon because I found that the neon makes the picture look more modern and artistic. The hard part was when I was trying to just get the background back to its original state and not effecting the part with the boys. This took several attempts. I have seen this affect in commercials and thought it was unique. I could use this to create interesting advertising media.
Glogster
Reflection: During the Glogster mini project I learned how to make a blog. During the presentation, I learned more unique tricks than I knew in the past. The talented group showed me how to create an interesting blog. I enjoyed this mini project because it made it more fascinating to create my attitude through my new blog. I didn't have any trouble with Glogster. It went very smoothly because the group that presented did very well helping me understand what I needed to do. I could see using this spectacular reference when making a blog that can be sent to anyone in order to get them interested or thinking about a product I am trying to sell. It would be another way of communicating with the public rather than sending written material through snail mail.
Cloning
Reflection: In this mini project, I learned how to clone an object in one picture and reproduce it in another picture. I used this technique in Photoshop. First, I had to find a picture that represented my attitude of respect. Cloning is different than copying and pasting, it is harder and involves more steps. I enjoyed this mini project because I was able to improve an already cute photo by adding text to send my message of respect. I did not enjoy this mini project because it was new to me and I found myself taking a long time to achieve the correct spot for the Together Forever sign. Another issue I had was once my Together Forever sign was in the correct area I had to then clone the monkey's head's to go over the sign. I could use this technique to add more objects to a picture to improve the message and make the picture look better. A picture that is cloned could be used in a brochure or even wedding pictures. For example, if the wedding picture didn't have enough flowers more could be added by cloning.
Crop
Reflection: The cropping project involved moving different pictures into other pictures to create a unique picture that represented attitudes. I chose the attitude of respect. In this mini project I cropped my school picture into a scenery picture. There were many steps to achieve the final picture. I found myself repeating the steps a few times because of mistakes. When I finally got the pictures cropped, just the way I wanted them, it was satisfying to see the final project completed. This would be a very successful feature when it is used to make business cards, greeting cards, brochures, etc.
Monk-e-Mail
Reflection: In this mini project, I was taught how to make a monkey digitally. I learned how to make a monkey out of the website monk-e-mail. What I liked about this project was that it was humorous to make a monkey say and do random things. This mini project is just like the voki website; both websites were created to have animals or humans talk differently and do random things. I could not find any part of this project that I did not enjoy. This is my kind of humor. I see Mon-e-Mail as pure entertainment so I am not sure if or how I would use this technology in my future.
Voki
REFLECTION: For the voki project, I created a talking baby with a strange accent. I learned how to made this voki when Lindsay, Anika, and Sam taught the class. What I liked about this mini project was looking at the variety of different voki's. For example there is; a baby, a hot-dog, a dog, and etc. What I disliked about this mini project was choosing which voki to make my own. There were just so many different varieties to pick from. Outside of being entertaining, I do not see much use for voki's.
Background
REFLECTION: This picture was also created in the Adobe Photoshop tab. What I learned from this mini project was how to make a foreground, how to apply a style, how to attach a gradient with an amazing design, and how to create clouds. I also learned how to cut through each design like in the picture above. I loved this mini project because it was an exciting adventure looking though all the various colors, patterns, styles, and clouds. What I disliked about this mini project was that I had trouble trying to figure out how to cut each design so it would look like the picture above. This project was complex when working with many icons that I started to get lost, I struggled locating the colors, patterns, styles, and clouds icons. I could easily use this ability in any academic class especially when I do a technology project that involves doing Photoshop. I could make incredible cover pages for written work, but I mostly see this used in technology projects like Power Point.
Paint
REFLECTION: What I learned from this mini project was how to use the Adobe Photoshop tab. In the Adobe Photoshop tab I made this picture to show respect. I liked this project because it was very creative and it was exciting to consider what picture I should do that relates to respect. The attitude I chose is respect and how respect relates to technology. The picture on the left shows a girl being respectful to the computers. But to the right, the picture shows that the girl is not taking good care of the computer. Respect is kind of related with patience; you have to keep calm and wait for the computer to respond before you start banging on the keyboards. Some challenges with this project were having to draw the picture with the mouse instead of your finger, like on the I-pad and having to constantly go back to erase mistakes. I could use this Adobe Photoshop tab for academic classes to include pictures in papers to express my ideas more clearly.
This could also be used to advertise something that the school is attempting to present to everyone.
Poll-daddy
REFLECTION: For our youteach project, Nicole, Cristina, and Elizabeth choose to work on a polldaddy survey. We learned how to create a survey that evaluated the attitudes that tie into technology. We enjoyed this project because it was simple and it was interesting to learn how to create a poll survey. We did not enjoy this project because it was difficult to post it to our wiki pages. Nicole had a problem posting it onto her wiki page when the survey appeared all broken up on her wiki page. Nicole, Cristina, and Elizabeth can use this feature in life because they would be able to be a survey person who posts their surveysonline just to get other peoples ideas. We think that surveying could be an interesting part of a job. We really enjoyed working together on this project.
MS Word Graphic Editing
REFLECTION: I learned how to crop, add color, and add a border around pictures. From this experience, of copying and pastying pictures into a word document, I now have the skills to do this task faster. What I enjoyed about this project was the simplicity of improving the appearance of the row of dogs. What I found challenging was when I tried to move the pictures into a word document I got "no access" message multiple times. This was frustrating. I was finally able to move the pictures into a word document by "save picture as" and then I was able to access the picture on the word document. This ability to copy, add color, and add a border to pictures can assist me on future projects. I can see this being used for marketing, graphic design, newsletters, magazine advertising, etc.
My Avatar
REFLECTION: I learned from making the avatar that you can do what ever you want as your design. I liked this project because I could do what ever I could to represent myself but through an avatar. I didn't like this project because it was a little bit hard to upload my avatar to my wiki page. I would use this feature for later in life if I was going to become an avatar designer. On the other hand, I could easily create another website for kids and even parents to use to create their very own avatar themselves for fun.
Tagxedo
REFLECTION: This project "Tagxedo" involved putting one of the attitudes, mine was respect, into a design with words. We had to find 30 to 50 words in order to have a full design. What I learned from this project was that you can do a fun design and it will help you learn what other words describe respect. What I liked about this project was the part where you could change the design you want to have into a key or even Abraham Lincoln. What I didn't like about this project was I had to find 30 to 50 words in only 1 or 2 short class periods. For the future, I would use this program if I was an educator for the I.B. league. I would try and make learning the attitudes a fun way by making another "Tagxedo" website.
